Lighting Techniques
Deck & Patio Lighting
A specialized accent lighting technique designed to enhance outdoor seating and gathering spaces. It provides a soft, diffused illumination that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere, making decks and patios more comfortable and visually appealing after dark.

Uplighting
Fixtures are placed at ground level and aimed upward to highlight trees, architectural elements, and landscape features. This method emphasizes height, texture, and structure, creating depth and dramatic visual impact while enhancing the beauty of the outdoor space at night.

Down Lighting
Fixtures are mounted above the area being illuminated, such as peaks of the house, in trees, on structures, or under eaves, and directed downward. This method creates a soft, natural-looking light while reducing glare and enhancing nighttime ambiance.

Silhouette / Shadow Lighting
This technique highlights the shapes and textures of plants or objects by casting their shadows onto a vertical surface such as a wall or fence. By placing the light source in front of the feature, the foliage creates dramatic shadow patterns that enhance depth and visual interest, adding a bold, artistic effect to the outdoor landscape and living areas.

Moonlighting
This lighting technique is inspired by the glow of the moon. It involves placing fixtures at a height above the space, often in trees used in outdoor settings, such as patios, decks, and pools, where light filters through foliage. Mimicking the way the moonlight would naturally shine through branches creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere.
